The Atlanta WBB Design

How much do you know about the professional women's basketball team, the Atlanta Dream? Do you know where the team's name came from? How about the logo? Do you know what their mascot is? Well, do not fear, I'm about to take you on a little journey to find out about all these things and more in this dive into my Atlanta WBB design.

Atlanta WBB Fan Tee, This Atlanta WBB-themed T-shirt in team colors and featuring the Civil Rights Symbol gives off a sporty and activist vibe. Perfect for fans of Atlanta WBB or those passionate about civil rights movements. Ideal for wearing to games, p

I started this design off with the Atlanta skyline because it's the home of the team. While researching the city I found out that it's home to some really cool street art. So, instantly I knew that I was going to use street art style font in the team colors for the "Atlanta" and the "WBB" parts of the design. Then I remembered learning in school that the city is also home to the Civil Rights Movement, and it is home to one of the greatest men to lead the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Thinking about Dr. King and Civil Rights I was reminded that the Atlanta Dream basketball team are continuing his legacy. It's woven into the teams DNA. I mean they are named after his famous "I Have A Dream" speech. They are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in. They speak up when something is wrong. That was never more apparent than during the BLM Movement in 2020. Don't know what I'm talking about? Then you need to watch "The Power Of The Dream."

Since the Atlanta Dream don't have a mascot, I had to think of a way to represent the "Dream." Once I got to thinking about the team and the history I settled on the Civil Rights Symbol. It captures the team and the city of Atlanta. I colored the symbol navy blue and placed it inside the light blue basketball. It's also the main element on the Atlanta Hoodie.

Lastly, I added 2 shooting stars in light blue just above the city skyline. This was a nod to the Atlanta Dream Logo that also has a star. There is also a shooting star added to the Civil Rights Symbol on the hoodie design.

That's all folks! I hope that you understand a little more about the professional women's basketball team, the Atlanta Dream as well as understanding the Atlanta designs at Uncontested Streetwear.
